Super lousy anti-pattern from Quora. The tiny “Close & Read” will actually take you beyond this screen.

Went to unsubscribe from Rdio’s emails and was met with this.

Really, Pandora? Absolutely no access to your website on iPad? Wow.

“Designed for all your devices” — then cuts off content on the landing page.

This is really frustrating. At least some of the links direct me to the article I wanted to read when I landed there from google.

But it’s wrong for so many reasons:

  • If you’ve still got the link to the article and do device-detection (so you know i’m on an iPad, right?), why not direct me straight to the “touch website” version of the ARTICLE!
  • A bit more effort and you’ll get the first link right. Almost there!
  • So many choices it’s confusing
  • I want to read an article, I don’t give a s*** about your app or OmniDigital, whatever that is…

Vendor prefix fail (iOS vs Firefox Mobile) on top of a fullscreen “download our app” takeover. I kept accidentally clicking the Windows Phone link when trying to proceed to m.foursquare.com

I know you’re site is all about “epic fails”, but that doesn’t need to extend to your mobile web experience.

Search in Google, find an interesting link. Click. The “site” doesn’t even load — it just gives you a dialog-box to click. Takes you over to an app for the forum software. Which you can buy for $2.99. Search in Google, find an interesting link. Click. The “site” doesn’t even load — it just gives you a dialog-box to click.
